The Role
We are seeking a Finishing + Assembly Artisan to join our fabrication team and help bring Coil + Drift’s sculptural lighting and furniture to life. This entry-level role centers on material finishing and fixture assembly, with hands-on training in our proprietary metal patination process—an art form that defines the spirit of our work.
You will work closely with our Head of Fabrication to craft pieces that embody precision, warmth, and presence. This is a full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm) at our studio in the Western Catskills.
How You’ll Shape the Work
+ Metal Patination: Learn and apply Coil + Drift’s distinctive patina techniques, using chemical treatments, waxes, and lacquers to create richly layered finishes.
+ Fixture Assembly: Build and wire lighting fixtures with care, completing the final step before packaging and shipment.
+ Produce consistent, high-quality work by following established production guidelines.
+ Meet timeline goals and maintain open, daily communication with the Head of Fabrication.
+ Uphold Coil + Drift’s culture of safety, respect, and craftsmanship.
Where You’ll Contribute
Production & Craft
+ Follow production scheduling software from new order intake to final completion.
+ Keep the workshop clean, organized, and conducive to focused, creative work.
+ Communicate proactively about machine maintenance, tool needs, and material stock.
+ Open and close the studio, ensuring a safe and secure workplace each day.
Collaboration & Development
+ Build and test prototypes in partnership with the design team.
+ Assist in shaping technical drawings and assembly documentation for new designs.
+ Support sales and outreach initiatives when extra hands are needed—our studio operates as a collaborative ecosystem.
What You Bring
+ A high school diploma and a strong attention to detail.
+ A desire to work productively, efficiently, and with integrity.
+ Comfort communicating with teammates, vendors, and collaborators.
+ Experience with wood or metal fabrication is a plus—but not required. We will train you.

+ Use hand tools, fabrication equipment, and basic shop machinery with dexterity

The Role
We are seeking a Growth + Connection Lead to guide the flow of Coil + Drift out into the world. This person will nurture relationships with new and existing clients, carry our story into presentations and events, and collaborate with our design team to shape compelling marketing and communications. They will serve as a bridge — connecting people to our work and ensuring their journey with Coil + Drift feels thoughtful, consistent, and inspiring.
This is a full-time role based at our Jeffersonville, NY studio.

What You'll Do:

+ Cultivate new client relationships and deepen existing ones, acting as a trusted guide through our sales and production process.
+ Share the Coil + Drift story through in-person presentations, events, and outreach.
+ Partner with our design team to craft marketing campaigns across print, digital, and newsletter platforms.
+ Steward a consistent and high-quality sales experience, following clear guidelines while leaving space for creative expression.
+ Work toward sales goals with care, determination, and integrity.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
+ At least 1 year of experience in sales, hospitality, or another people-centered role
+ Strong communication skills, with warmth and clarity at the core
+ Comfort with digital tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) or the willingness to learn
+ Organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Curiosity about design and the needs of both clients and teammates
+ Interest in learning 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks or Shapr3D

Assistant Fabricator and Packager

Position
Assistant Fabricator and Packager, Part time position (3 days / 24 hours per week).  With the right candidate, this position will grow to full-time within the first year.
Location: Coil + Drift studio, located in the Western Catskills in Jeffersonville, NY
Reports to:  Head of Fabrication
Position purpose:  Assistant Fabricator and Packager is an entry level position responsible for metal and wood preparation, which is the first phase of production of Coil + Drift light fixtures and shelving units.  They are also responsible for packaging Coil + Drift fixtures to be shipped.  Coil + Drift’s designs utilize clean lines and celebrate the materials they are made of.  Their fixtures are intended to awaken the creative spaces they inhabit.  
Essential Functions
- Prep: operate metal grinder, metal band saw, circular sander, and other machines associated with metal preparation.
-Shipping: Wrap, cushion, pad, and package Coil + Drift fixtures for shipping via UPS, LTL freight, and white glove.  Treat fixtures with a delicate and gentle touch.  Follow packaging protocol
-Produce high quality and consistent work by following the fabrication and packaging guidelines
-Meet timeline goals set by Head of Production
